Caring for the human spirit

This forms part of a series of interactive webinars, commissioned by Birmingham and Solihull ICB and provided by Birmingham Hospice in collaboration with Marie Curie and St Giles Hospice. Sessions are delivered by local palliative care experts.

Each live webinar is free to join and will enable you to share and learn from your own and other healthcare professionals’ experiences. The sessions will equip you with the tools and resources you need to confidently manage challenging situations that may arise when caring for patients with palliative care needs and their families.

This session will explore spirituality, how we define it, how it may differ from faith and religion and its importance at end of life and during bereavement.

You can expect to learn:

  • Different belief systems
  • The practices associated with different faiths
  • The role of the healthcare professional in supporting the spiritual needs of patients and families in their care.
