Free online webinar for healthcare professionals
Date: 22nd May 2025
Time: 1pm – 2pm
Format: Online via ZOOM
This is the first webinar in a series which will introduce the concept that all healthcare professionals have a part to play in ensuring the delivery of good palliative and end of life care to patients. It forms part of a series of interactive webinars, commissioned by Birmingham and Solihull ICB and provided by the Birmingham Hospice in collaboration with Marie Curie and St Giles Hospice. Sessions are delivered by local palliative care experts.
Each live webinar is free to join and will enable you to share and learn from your own and other healthcare professionals’ experiences. We would especially encourage the attendance of Community Pharmacists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Paramedics in addition to Districts Nurses and GP’s.
The sessions will equip you with the tools and resources you need to confidently manage challenging situations that may arise when caring for patients with palliative care needs and their families.
You can expect to learn:
- An overview of ACP with relevance to all healthcare professionals working within the community
- How to start ACP conversations with patients and families
- How to access appropriate resources
Please book your place via Eventbrite using the above link. All requests for places will be honoured, please leave your details on the booking form and we will allocate you a ticket via Eventbrite.
As part of our commitment to the NHS England comprehensive model of personalised care, these sessions will highlight the importance of shared decision-making and personalised care and support planning when working with patients and families.
