Collection Box Agent

Reports to: Volunteer and Supporter Experience Coordinator (Fundraising)
Location: South Birmingham (Northfield, Longbridge and Rubery) and North Birmingham (Erdington and surrounding areas)
Commitment: Flexible, typically a few hours per month
Requirement: A competent driver with a full UK driving license and use of a car

As a Collection Box Agent, you will play a vital role in helping to raise funds for Birmingham Hospice by distributing and maintaining our collection boxes in local businesses, shops, and community spaces. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being out and about in the community, building relationships, and supporting a great cause.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and approach local businesses or venues to host a collection box.
  • Regularly visit assigned locations to check, empty, and replace full collection boxes.
  • Record and securely return collected donations to the hospice in line with our procedures.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with supporters and businesses.
  • Keep track of where collection boxes are placed and ensure they remain in good condition.

Skills and qualities needed:

  • Friendly and confident when speaking with businesses and members of the public.
  • Organised and reliable, with good time management skills.
  • Comfortable handling cash and following secure procedures.
  • Have a driver’s license and has access to a vehicle.
